David Lawrence
One of the UK's most versatile choral conductors, David's
work has taken him to Australia, India, Canada, South
America and throughout Europe. He continues to work for
the UK's leading choral organisations, is a popular leader
of choral workshops and a well known trainer of choral
conductors. David has adjudicated at international choral
festivals as well as for the BBC Choir of the Year Competition.
He also conducts for BBC Television's 'Songs of Praise'
programme, has conducted live broadcasts for both BBC
and ITV, and recent performances have taken place in venues
as diverse as Canterbury Cathedral, Buckingham Palace,
and a car park in Belfast where he directed the Ulster
Youth Orchestra and Ulster Youth Choir in an open air
concert to some 20,000 people.
As Principal Conductor of Young Voices David directs massed
voices in an annual series of concerts, with some choirs
incorporating over 8,000 singers! Forthcoming engagements
include education projects with the orchestra Viva, further
work with the Netherlands Radio Choir as well as performances
in Holland, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
