MP3

Recording your audio

There are various ways of recording your choir's performance depending on what equipment you have access to.

You can record directly onto a mini disc, tape or CD, which you will need to download onto your computer and then upload via our online form.

Once your editing package is set up you will need a microphone. Again, some computers already have built in microphones but if yours doesn't you can hire or purchase a microphone to plug into your computer (most schools have access to this type of equipment).

Converting to MP3

MP3 is a music format allowing audio tracks to be reduced to a smaller file size without losing too much quality.

A lot of audio packages will have the option of saving the recording as a MP3 file as standard. If you choose File > Save As, you will see the option available.

If you are not using an audio package you can still convert your audio file to MP3. Choose from one of the free packages available. This will allow you to input your audio and convert it to MP3.
